We are a branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), an international organization dedicated to recreating European History from 600 AD to 1600 AD. We are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

The Barony of Castle Rouge is proud to be the oldest Barony in the Kingdom of Northshield, celebrating our 45th Birthday in 2015. The Kingdom of Northshield is a part of the worldwide SCA.

To all residents and visitors to our lands do we, Baroness Clare Agatha MacLeod, and Baron David DuPont, send greetings and bid you welcome. We hope that you will find something or someone to spark your interest in our medieval world, be it fighting, dancing, feasting, singing, costume making, crafting, or any of the hundreds of other pursuits our talented members partake in.

If you feel that you would like to join us for an event, or for any of our regular meetings, please look to the Calendar in this site to see when and where we get together. We are usually doing something every week.

About the Barony of Castel Rouge

The Barony of Castel Rouge is a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism Inc., an international, non-profit, educational, "living history" organization. The SCA is dedicated to studying and practicing the arts, crafts, and martial activities of Europe in the Middle Ages. We sew period clothing, hold feasts and tournaments, participate in period dances, and generally have a good time.

The Barony's territory covers the province of Manitoba, Canada, with most members living in and around the city of Winnipeg.

The Barony of Castel Rouge hosts three or four local events each year, where we hold tournaments, play games, and have feasts. In addition we hold a number of dessert revels (parties), and regular meetings and practices for dancing, cooking, archery, sword and rapier combat, and other activities.
